Supervisory Consultations Independent Practice I offer supervisory consultations for psychotherapists and psychoanalysts from the perspective that each therapist-patient dyad develops a unique relationship. I believe that every theoretical approach has something to offer, and I belong to several psychoanalytic institutes. At the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis, I am a Training and Supervising Analyst and a member of the Faculty. At the New York Freudian Society, I am a Training and Supervising Analyst, and have taught classes in the psychoanalytic training program in Washington, D.C. At the Baltimore-Washington Center, I have taught in the adult psychotherapy program. Empathic listening as developed by self psychology is the cornerstone of my work, although my initial training was in ego psychology and I rely on it heavily for understanding the strengths that are needed for a well-functioning personality. I also have read widely in the areas of attachment theory, object relations theory, relational psychoanalysis and the modern Kleinian approach.
