Dr. Helm is especially interested in dream interpretation and discovering more about therapeutic action.  She is a member of the Analytic Process Scales Group, a research group led by Sherwood Waldron, M.D. that focuses on the process and outcome of psychoanalysis and psychotherapy.  She has published articles on hope and therapeutic interventions, and she has collaborated with colleagues on articles on femininity and the psychodynamic aspects of cognitive-behavioral therapy.   Her presentations are on similar topics, in addition to integrating the results of clinical research with new discoveries in neuropsychology and laboratory experiments in cognition.
